East Jindabyne

Residential

A modern interpretation of mountain living, this home feels grounded, honest, and deeply connected to its surroundings — a retreat where every detail reflects both the landscape and the people who live within it. Warm, refined, and quietly architectural, the home was designed to feel embracing from the moment you enter.

As designer Rachel Miklas explains;

“We selected Glosswood’s Walnut timber panelling for this project to bring a sense of warmth, refinement, and depth to the space, while still maintaining a clean, architectural finish.”

The richness and consistency of the walnut tone became a defining element of the interior palette, creating continuity and calm throughout the home.

Material consistency extended beyond the primary wall and ceiling surfaces. Matching trims, corner pieces, and door cladding allowed the same finish to flow seamlessly through every detail, avoiding visual interruptions and reinforcing the architectural intent. “Having trims, corner pieces, and door cladding available in the same material allowed us to maintain a cohesive finish across all elements,” Rachel notes, “rather than introducing visual breaks or inconsistencies.”

The result is a space that feels considered and resolved at every level — from expansive surfaces through to the smallest junctions — where material continuity plays a central role in the overall architectural expression of the home.
