Introducing the latest residence by Custom Built New Homes. The home features matte fittings, warm natural timber and refined material palette. One key feature of the home is Glosswood’s timber boards, which run from the front hallway through to the kitchen space. We explore to key features of this design; a secret door and curved walling.
Secret Door
A ‘secret’ door is a great way to conceal storage and was installed in the hallway of the home. This look was achieved by fixing the timber boards onto a standard door frame. The installer ensured an allowance was considered for natural timber expansion. The finished result is a seamless hidden passage that seamlessly blends with the timber panelling.
Curved Timber Walling
The design team incorporated a gradual curved to ensure the Designer Lining profile could flex it. By installing the boards with the Tongue & Groove running parallel to the curve, it made the installation possible. Learn more about installing on a curved wall or ceiling.
