The MTRDC team were excited to take on their most recent project: the redesign of the Food Court space in The Glen Shopping Centre. Based in Glen Waverley in Melbourne’s South East, the Glen is a mecca for all things retail and food. MTRDC are no stranger to using Glosswood in shopping centre fit-outs, having used Designer Lining in Melbourne’s Galleria (as well as in Top Ryde City). They chose to use Glosswood again for this project, selecting Distressed White from the Satin range.
The Sydney based firm decided to use the Designer Lining profile as it is easy to install with a tongue-and-groove. The deep-cut profile makes a dramatic design impact as a large-scale feature wall, and creates strong leading lines.
MTRDC were seeking a sophisticated finish for the dining space, turning to Distressed White for the final selection. The distressed finish breaks up the block colours in the space, bringing a softer feel to the interior. The pendant lighting creates shadow play over the lining boards, creating a deep shadow line in some areas.
