05 Aug East Fremantle home by Tim Wright
This inviting home overlooks the port city of Fremantle, with views of the Swan River and beyond. Architect Tim Wright worked closely with the client, utilising a refined use of colour and materials. The design team selected Glosswood Designer Lining to clad the walls internally to create a striking feature in this water- front home.
Designer Lining was selected from the Glosswood range for it’s deep-cut profile, which creates a striking feature. As the lining was used extensively throughout the home, ease of installation was a priority when it came to product selection. Glosswood use a tongue & groove board, which made installing the Designer Lining an easy process. The boards were installed to run vertically throughout the interior, uniting the different spaces with natural timber.
The interior showcases raw concrete, textured limestone and mid-tone timber lining, creating a mix of beautifully curated materials. Spotted Gum was selected from Glosswood’s matte range as it is a beautiful earthy timber colour. It assists in balancing the cool-tones of the concrete and adds warmth to the interior.
Raw concrete was used throughout the home. The concrete takes on the properties from the mold used during installation, to create this unique Brutalist style.
The builder created beautiful joinery for this project, including custom door-handles (seen in above image). From the striking feature walls to intimate cabinetry, the Glosswood boards are a stand out feature in this breath-taking home.
